Large Scale Audit Program

Our client had embarked on a corporate strategy to ensure significant safety improvements were made across all its diverse sites. Our Client recognised the need to establish a formalised and standardised audit program throughout the organisation.

A significant element of their management system was the introduction of periodic audits based on the ZEALCare™ tool.

Outcome

Rather than undertaking a formal audit program, we concluded that a coaching or "evaluation" approach would have greater benefits. This approach gave our auditors a broader opportunity to educate and coach personnel, hence improving the ongoing consistency and impact of moving to ownership of safety by the line managers.

Our client succeeded in implementing an evaluation program across their diverse sites including remote locations.  

Results from the "evaluations" have been a critical input in development of ongoing safety interventions.   This has ensured retention of self insurance licences. 

The program has revealed opportunities to address both local and national issues, and has increased internal efficiency. 

The impact on the organisation's safety improvement is measurable and the organisation has acknowledged the key part that evaluations have played in achieving this.
