Managing Change : Public ServiceThe Client IssueOur client was undertaking a major service excellence programme resulting in operational, IT and HR changes. One of the milestones was the relocation of over 600 staff from suburban and outer suburban offices to a centralised location in the CBD over two years. During a team building forum for the Executive and middle Management teams, the consistent feedback was that the executive were not aware of the resistance to change and not supporting the middle management team in dealing with it. The CEO decided that he and his Executive Team (which comprised both long-standing and very new members), needed to understand the depth and breadth of workplace perception, regarding the current changes and the overall strategy and integrate in forward planning. Our Approach Outcome Our structured workshops and focus groups assisted in prioritising the issues and ensuring the Executives were paramount to leading the change. The Executive are now developing a Leadership Blueprint which will
define the values and practices for all leaders within the
organisation. This will clearly define the need for effective
leadership practice across the organisation. | |
